Teen Killed In Accident With Police Car
A tragic accident over the weekend left a teenager dead and a group of students mourning at Brookside Christian School in Stockton.
Vince Ellis, 18, and a friend were coming back after playing an away game in Rio Vista when they crashed into a police officer's vehicle. Ellis was a passenger in the car when it collided head-on with the patrol vehicle.
The driver of the car was attempting to pass a truck on Highway 12 in Solano County late Friday night when the two cars met.
The officer in the other car was a member of the Rio Vista Police department. The officer, identified as David Lamoree, was taken to the hospital but later died due to major injuries.
According to doctors, Lamoree was brain dead as of Saturday but as an organ donor, he was kept alive to facilitate the transfer. They finally took him off of life support on Sunday, which coincidentally was his 26th birthday.
