Mechanical Problems Lead To Crash

A vehicle was involved in the rollover accident on northbound U.S. 101 near Leavesley on Monday.

Juana Escobar's two daughters and a niece were driving back to San Jose after driving to Gilroy to pick up Escobar from work.

Apparently, all of a sudden, the driver experienced mechanical problems and lost control of the vehicle. The car slid sideways into the medium and then rolled over.

One of the passengers sustained moderate injuries and the others involved had minor injuries. Three were taken to St. Louise Hospital and treated for the injuries while the driver was airlifted to a San Jose trauma center for observation.
