Three people were found dead near an overturned car in Napa County Monday and it appeared they had been there since last night.
Authorities say they found the silver 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo around 3 p.m. submerged in a creek that runs alongside American Canyon Road just west of Interstate 80.
They believe the car crashed Sunday night during the storm, throwing the two females and a male from the vehicle.
The victims' identities have not been released, although the driver was described as a female in her late teens or early 20s.
The California Highway Patrol says the car likely was speeding. The speedometer was found frozen at 75 miles
per hour, but the speed limit on the road is 35 miles per hour.
