Accused Drunk Driver Kills Teen

February 2, 2006

A 47-year old San Jose man has been charged with the death of a motorcycle rider in a drunk driving accident on Highway One.

The San Mateo County Coroner identifies the victim as 19-year old Rebecca Siebenmorgen, a UC-Santa Cruz student.

Investigators say the teenager was on a motorcycle when the Ford Ranger pickup truck Mark Henderson was driving drifted across the center line and hit her head-on.

Police say Henderson tried to leave the scene but was captured a short distance away.

San Mateo County prosecutors will charge Henderson with three felonies including manslaughter, leaving the scene, and driving under the influence.
